Start with the business constraint

Growth, margin, service, quality and succession each create different people priorities. Begin with what the organisation must achieve.

Choose fewer priorities

A long HR plan often hides the absence of a decision. Name the two or three workforce outcomes that deserve leadership attention now.

Connect measures to movement

Track the evidence that a priority is changing, such as time to competence, regretted turnover, internal progression or vacancy risk.

A useful next step

If this issue is affecting a current vacancy or people plan, People HQ can help turn the principle into a practical decision.
